COMPOSITION

ProfessorGraves

On this YouTube channel, I post videos I’ve created for my classes. They cover topics such as the writing process and rhetorical appeals in addition to more composition-specific concerns like improving thesis statements and using MLA Style.

CRASH COURSE: COMPOSITION STUDY HALL

This partnership between Crash Course and Arizona State University is an excellent resource for engaging videos about composition concerns: invention, drafting, revision, argument, and more.

CRASH COURSE: INTRO TO MEDIA LITERACY

Produced by Crash Course and hosted by Jay Smooth, this collection of videos looks at the ways media persuades and addresses how to evaluate the trustworthiness of media information.

PURDUE OWL

The Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) is the go-to resource on the web for help with MLA, Chicago, and APA formatting in addition to concerns like avoiding plagiarism, researching and composing, and writing for specific subjects.

The Georgia State University Library has Research Guides that offer subject-specific resources for different fields and majors, as well as more general orientation guides to help students make use of the Library’s vast holdings.

The TED-Ed channel, produced by the same organization that produces TED Talks, has a great playlist that deals with tricky grammar concerns students encounter such as comma splices, colons versus semicolons, aprostrophe usage, and more.
